In Quebec, the refusal of a succession must be signed and published before a Notary. This is the only way to renounce an estate. It is important to know that any actions can be interpreted as an acceptance of the estate.

Once you accept, unfortunately you can't give up. It is therefore important to speak with a notary before taking the steps.

Will searches at the Chambre des Notaires du Québec as well as at the Barreau du Québec are mandatory to undertake a refusal of succession.

Your file opening includes:

  • File opening for notarized documents
    • Support and creation of the file in the secure software for notaries
  • Sending the form for information

Your package includes:

  • 1 consultation with a notary to clearly define your needs
  • 1 appointment for the signature of the documents in front of the notary
  • The assurance of having documents drafted by a notary duly registered with the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • Publication in the Quebec Register of Personal and Movable Rights (RDPRM)

All our packages are payable in 2 installments :

The first payment is $100 when the file is opened , and the 2nd payment , which is the balance of payment, is made when your notarized documents are signed.

The first step is to open your file which you can do online by booking now, or with our team at 1-888-653-8299. Once the package has been reserved, you will receive the invoice by e-mail as well as a short questionnaire to fill out to obtain information.

Upon receipt, we will book your appointments with the notary.

Please note that the opening of the file is always deducted from the final payment.
