The mandate of incapacity

What is an incapacity mandate?

You have probably heard the tragic stories of people having had an accident and losing their senses, falling into a coma or losing their mental faculties. The mandate of incapacity has the function of helping people who enter into these cases and their families to organize themselves.

The mandate of incapacity will make it possible to declare the person covered by the mandate as unfit to exercise his civil rights and will designate a mandatary to exercise his civil rights. This procedure is particularly important for families wishing to choose a proxy for the incapacitated person and avoid appointing a proxy in an emergency if no mandate is issued.

This mandate is not exclusively reserved for people of the 3rd age, and also covers people who are victims of an accident falling into a coma or victims of a mentally incapacitating illness.
